You may need to reset MFA for your Microsoft 365 account if the mobile phone you use for account verification is replaced.
Log in to the Passphrase Maintenance Portal
Step 1. Navigate to the passphrase maintenance portal.
Step 2. Type in your PirateID username and the challenge text (not case sensitive). Click Next.
Step 3. Answer your three security questions. The main menu opens.
Step 4. Click the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) button.

Step 5. You see these options:
- Main Menu - Go back; exit the system
- Multifactor Help - Navigates to the IT service catalog; search the knowledge base or enter a help request
- Enable Multifactor
- Reset Multifactor - Removes MFA settings. If you lose or replace your verification mobile phone, you will be prompted to configure MFA through the new device.

Enable Your Account
Step 1. Once you open the passphrase maintenance MFA screen, click the Enable Multifactor button. You will receive an email confirming this step.
Step 2. Log in to Microsoft 365:

Reset Your Account
If your verification phone is replaced, remove MFA for your ECU account. You then reconfigure MFA using the new authentication phone.
Step 1. Once you open the passphrase maintenance MFA screen, click the Reset Multifactor button. You will receive an email confirming this step.
Step 2. Log in to Microsoft 365:
