VCL - Install the Client (Windows)

Follow these steps to download and install the remote Windows 10 desktop in the virtual computing lab to your Windows computer.

Step 1. Click the link below to begin download of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client. Chromebooks should use the Android client.

Click the client for your computer.

Step 2. Choose the 64-bit or 32-bit download according to your computer's architecture. The client downloads to your computer. Double-click the download and follow the setup prompts to install. The Let's get started window opens.

Step 3. Click the Subscribe button on the Let's get started page to open the Microsoft Sign In dialog box.

Step 4. Type your ECU email address and click Next.

Step 5. When prompted at the ECU screen, enter your ECU email address and passphrase.

Step 6. Your workspace now populates with a shortcut to the VCL - Windows 10 desktop. This desktop includes all available software on the VCL.

NOTE:

  • When you log in to the VCL, your OneDrive automatically logs in and begins to sync documents.
  • Files you use during your VCL session should be opened from OneDrive.
  • Files inadvertently saved to the VCL Desktop, Documents or Pictures folders sync to your OneDrive.
  • FILES NOT SAVED DIRECTLY TO ONEDRIVE, THE VCL DESKTOP, DOCUMENTS OR PICTURES FOLDERS ARE SUBJECT TO DELETION WITHOUT WARNING.
