Overview
Individual users and departments should complete this form for assistance with the VPN or to request a vendor/non-employee, department-sponsored VPN account.

ECU’s virtual private network (VPN) is an encrypted, virtual tunnel between off-campus devices and on-campus information. Connecting to ECU through a VPN prevents data theft between the server and your off-campus device.
Through a VPN connection, you access resources such as a department Piratedrive folder or other non-public resource when off campus. Note that you can only connect to ECU resources for which you already have access.

ECU-managed computers - Did you know? Even though the campus resources you access may not require it, log in to the VPN at least weekly for a few hours to ensure you receive the latest updates that fix bugs, patch security holes and sometimes add new features and support for products.

Install the AnyConnect VPN software
ECU-managed computers already have the software installed. Click the icon on the taskbar to connect. For personal computers, go to download.ecu.edu and click the Cisco AnyConnect tile. You only need to install AnyConnect once. You are required to authenticate your identity through MFA when opening a VPN session.
The AnyConnect icon shows with a lock in the system tray (Windows). Connect to your ECU resources, like Piratedrive, as you normally do when on campus.
NOTE: Remote users assigned an ECU-managed computer should connect to the VPN periodically to receive system updates.
