Tutorial - Connect to the VCL

Overview

Follow these steps to access VCL applications.

Step 1. Open a browser

Navigate to windows365.microsoft.com/ent#/. The Microsoft Sign in dialog box opens.

Step 2. Enter ECU email

Enter your ECU email address. Choose Next. The ECU sign-in page opens.

Step 3. Complete sign in and authenticate your identity

Enter your ECU email address and password where appropriate. Choose Sign in. If you are off campus, authenticate your identity. The VCL - Azure Windows Virtual Desktop opens.

Step 4. Choose Connect

Choose the Connect button in the VCL - Win10 dialog box.

Step 5. Allow your computer's resources

Choose the resources from your (local) computer that the remote computer needs to access. Options include your computer's microphone, clipboard, camera, keyboard shortcuts, etc. Choose Connect.

Step 6. Enter credentials once more

Enter your ECU email and password once again. Choose Sign in.

Step 7. Open an application

The Windows 10 desktop loads. If there is no shortcut on the desktop to the application you need, choose the Window icon (Start button) to access all available applications.

Step 8. Save your work to OneDrive

It is important to periodically save your work to OneDrive while working with VCL applications. 

Step 9. Log off

When done with your session, be sure to log off the VCL. Otherwise, subsequent logins may not be successful.
