Overview

Research Technology Services (RTS) provides guidance and assistance for faculty, staff, and graduate students in meeting scholarly research-related data governance, regulatory compliance, institutional policy, and security requirements. This includes collaboration with Data Stewards to support data classification, secure data storage and retention, access controls, data sharing and collaboration, regulatory compliance, risk assessment and acceptance, and security best practices for research technologies and systems.

This service aims to empower researchers to fulfil requirements for approvals or review processes such as those with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Technology Security Assessments (TSA), Architectural Review Board (ARB), Vulnerability Management (Risk Assessment and Acceptance), controlled and sensitive data handling, AI governance, and other research compliance activities. RTS also provides support for compliance documentation, records retention, and archival requests and responses to internal and external audit requests.

The goal is to assist researchers with secure, compliant, and auditable solutions that align with university policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
