Check Voice Messages

This tutorial helps faculty and staff get started using their office telephone voicemail.

There are three ways to check voice messages. Voicemail PIN required:

  1. Office Telephone. Press Messages.
  2. Non-Office Telephone. Call 252-328-9870 from any telephone on or off campus.
  3. Web Inbox/Cisco Personal Communications Assistant. Log in to voicemail.ecu.edu (VPN required for off-campus access). Play, reply to or send a message.

Edit Preferences

Manage voicemail settings through your office telephone or the Cisco Personal Communications Assistant (browser app).

 Office Telephone

Click the Messages button on the office phone or dial 252-328-9870 from another phone. A voicemail PIN is required. Follow voice prompts to change:

  • Your greeting
  • Message settings
  • Preferences
  • Transfer settings

 Messaging Assistant (browser app)

Navigate to voicemail.ecu.edu. Off-campus access requires ECU VPN. Log in using PirateID username and password.

Select Messaging Assistant. The Personal Options screen opens.

Select a drop-down menu item to update. Do not forget to save your changes! Options include:

Create/change PIN. Click the Passwords drop-down menu, choose Change PIN. Type in new numbers. Confirm and click Save.

Update Greetings.

  1. Click the Greetings drop-down menu, choose View Greetings. The greetings list opens.
  2. Click the greeting link (underlined) you wish to record (most users choose Standard). The recording screen opens.
  3. Using a headset, press the Record button to create a new greeting. Click Save.
