Overview
These instructions help you connect (onboard) your iOS device to the eduroam network. During setup, the JoinNow wizard checks minimum requirements and installs a certificate on your device. This certificate is active for four years.
IMPORTANT! If you are already connected to the internet (ecu-wifi, ecu-guest, cellular service), open a web browser and navigate to http://onboard.ecu.edu and SKIP TO STEP 2.
Step 1
Connect to the ecu-guest wifi network. Click Proceed to ECU Main Website when prompted.

Step 2
Make sure that the browser is Safari. Navigate to http://onboard.ecu.edu. The ECU Network Configuration Utility opens. Tap Sign In. The ECU sign in dialog box opens.

Step 3
Follow the dialog box instructions to sign in.
IMPORTANT: If you are not on the ECU network while following these steps – you are at home or using cellular service, for example – you will be asked to authenticate through MFA (text, phone call, etc.). Begin by typing in your ECU email address.
Step 4
The ECU Network Configuration Utility opens. Tap Join Now.
Step 5
A pop-up states, "This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?" Tap Allow. The profile downloads to your device. Tap Close.
Step 6
From your device settings, tap Profile Downloaded.* The Install Profile dialog box opens.
*If you don't immediately see Profile Downloaded, look for a tab titled, More for Your iPhone below the Apple ID info banner. If you are using iPhone 17, find your certificate download under "VPN and Device Management" in the settings menu.
Step 7
Tap Install (top right) to install the network configuration profile.

Step 8
Enter the device's passcode or any other security setting you use.

Step 9
Tap Install.

Step 10
If you are within range of the eduroam network, your device automatically connects.
If you complete this process off campus eduroam automatically connects once you are on campus. Tap Done.
