Overview

Xtender is an imaging and storage system used by administrative staff to capture, organize and retrieve paper and computer-generated documents at ECU.

Step 1

Log in to Xtender, then run a query on the document to be copied or moved. Open the document.

Step 2

At the top of the screen, click Document.  Then choose Copy or Move Pages from the item list.

Step 3

Complete the information, then choose Copy or Move:

  • Document Pages – type in a page range or separate pages
    • Examples: “1-3” or “1, 3, 5” or “1-3, 5”
  • Target Application – destination application
    • Can only copy/move to applications for which you have access, including the application you’re moving from.
    • Copying to the same application will create a new document with the same pages you specified in Document Pages.
  • Batch Name – automatically generated; can be modified
  • Index New Document – If checked, automatically opens index fields for you to complete with document information. Otherwise, the document is part of the batch list under the specified Batch Name waiting to be indexed.

Step 4

Click Copy or Move.

  • Copy creates a clone of the original document in the Target Application. The original document is unaffected.
  • Move transfers the original copy to the Target Application and deletes the original document in the current application.
