Overview
Xtender is an imaging and storage system used by administrative staff to capture, organize and retrieve paper and computer-generated documents at ECU.
Follow these steps to move or copy document pages from the Document Display to the current application or to a different application. Xtender processes the pages as a batch, so Batch Scan privilege for the target application and the Delete Page privilege for the source application are required.
Step 1. Choose Copy or Move Pages from Document display view
- Display the document in Xtender.
- Select the Document tab, then the Copy or Move Pages option from the drop-down menu.
- Xtender displays a view to specify move/copy options.
Specify the pages:
- Specify a contiguous page range by inserting a hyphen between the first and last page numbers. Example: 1-4
- Specify separate pages by inserting a comma between each page number. Example: 1,2,5,7
Step 2. Decide whether to copy/move all document versions
- To move/copy all versions of the selected pages, select Include page versions.
- Xtender moves/copies only the current version unless you select this option.
- NOTE: If you move/copy multiple versions of a one-page document, Xtender converts the page versions to separate pages in the target application.
Step 3. Select the target application
- Select the target application.
- Specify how you want to index the batch:
- To index the batch immediately after moving or copying the pages, select Index new Batch document.
- To index the batch from a batch list at a later time, clear Index new Batch document.
- Specify how Xtender creates the batch:
- To move the pages from the source application, click Move.
- NOTE: Xtender does not display the Move button unless you have the Delete Page privilege for the source application.
- To leave a copy of the pages in the source application, click Copy.
Step 4. Index the batch
- If you did not select Index new Batch document, retrieve the batch from the Batch Index list when you are ready to index the batch.
- Refer to this xtendweb.ecu.edu article, Indexing Batches for more information.
- Select Public to allow others to have access to your batch.
