Overview
Xtender is an imaging and storage system used by administrative staff to capture, organize and retrieve paper and computer-generated documents at ECU.
Follow these instructions to request security access to an Xtender application.
Step 1
- Log in to PiratePort.
- Click the apps icon (side panel) and scroll to Security.
- Click Banner Security Request. The form opens.

Step 2
- Click Request Security under options.
- Check the Xtender option in the Request Access for: section.

Step 3
- Click the drop-down arrow beside the appropriate application category – BSOM, FINANCE, FINANCIAL AID, HUMAN RESOURCES, STUDENT OTHER – and choose the application for which you need access.
- Select the appropriate privilege.
- EXAMPLE: From category Student, choose Student Admissions Documents app with Processor Delete Access privileges.
- Click the Submit button. The form returns to the main request screen.

Step 4
- Enter any special requests in the Comments text box. Examples for the Student application might include:
- I need Viewer access to Undergraduate Admissions documents.
- Please grant access to the HNR documents in the B-S-ADMN Xtender application.
- I need identical access as Jane Doe, Advisor.
- Choose the Submit button to complete your request.
Approval process - what happens next?

Your request routes to your supervisor for approval.

After supervisor approval, the request is routed to the function area approver for action.

If approved, the request moves to the Xtender administrator for action.

Request is forwarded to IT Security for final disposition.

You receive an email once your access has been set up.
