Step 1. Open the control panel and click the Programs category
The Programs category opens.
Step 2. Click the Java icon
The Java Control Panel opens
Step 3. From the Security tab, click the Edit Site List… button
The Exception Site List dialog box opens.
Step 4. Click the Add button. Type in the new Banner INB URL
NEW BANNER INB URL: https://inbprd-banner.ecu.edu/forms/frmservlet?config=PBAN
Step 5. Click OK to return to the Java Control Panel dialog box
You will now see the new Banner URL in the Exception Site List.
Clearing Java Cache
Step 1. In the General tab, click Settings under Temporary Internet Files
Step 2. A new window opens labeled Temporary Files Settings. Click Delete Files
Step 3. A confirmation dialog box opens. Check all the boxes. Click OK
Step 4. Click OK in the Temporary Files Settings window
Step 5. Click OK in the Java Control Panel window
Accessing the new Banner INB for the first time
Step 1. Type the new Banner INB URL into a browser
A dialog box opens asking if you wish to run this application. It also states that your computer and personal information may be at risk.
Check the Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above. This prevents this dialog box from opening each time you access Banner INB.
Click the Run button. A dialog box opens. The message states, “We recommend running the application with the latest version of Java on your computer.”
Step 2. Click the Run with the latest version button
A security warning dialog box opens. The message states, “The application will run with unrestricted access which may put your computer and personal information at risk.”
Step 3
- Select the check box: “I accept the risk and want to run this application.”
- Select the check box: “Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above.”
Click the Run button.
