Overview

ECU's university-wide calendar allows departments and other units to add public events and is managed by ECU News Services. When editing your events, note that this tool works best in Firefox or Chrome. This calendar includes many social media features, so always follow ECU Social Media Guidelines and the ECU Social Media Regulation when posting information.

Verification requirements

An event cannot be added to the ECU calendar until it is verified.

  • Contact information is required, or event is not verified.
  • Title, description, contact email or phone number and start date are minimum requirements. The more information provided, the more likely the event will be verified.
  • Direct event verification questions to ecunews@ecu.edu.

Event submission

Remember that the more information you provide, the more likely it is your event will be verified!

  1. Log in and click the Submit an Event button.
  2. Enter the contact name (required) and a detailed event description (required).
  3. To be featured on ecu.edu, give reason in the description and select Featured Event.
  4. Enter the event date (required), start and end times (not required but preferred so it appears correctly on the mobile calendar).
  5. Select if the event is a recurring event.
  6. Enter the event location and room number (if available). Campus locations with images pop up as you type. You can upload a different image, if preferred.
  7. If the location is not in the system, enter a physical address. A Google map is displayed on the event website if Google can find the location address.
  8. Add the event’s website address and/or Facebook event page link (if available).
  9. Upload a photo (if available). To avoid cropping, size the image to 4:3 ratio (640×480).
  10. Choose one or more event types from the drop-down menu (return to the drop-down menu to select each event type). Choose Featured Event for placement on the ecu.edu website.
  11. Choose one or more associated departments from the drop-down menu (return to the drop-down menu to select each unit). If your department shows ECU Calendar events on its website, choose the correct department so the events feed works properly.
  12. Choose the target audience and group (only if associated with a group). You can only choose one.
  13. Enter the ticket purchase location and cost. Leave these fields blank for free events.
  14. Enter a contact name and phone number/email address of the person available for questions.
  15. Click Add Event.

Edit date/time

  1. Log in and navigate to the event.
  2. Click the Edit Event button.
  3. Click the purple pencil to edit the Date/Time.

Delete date/time

  1. Log in and navigate to the event.
  2. Click the Edit Event button.
  3. Click the purple trashcan to remove an event.

Add new date/time

  1. Log in and navigate to the event.
  2. Click the Edit Event button.
  3. Enter the new date in the Start Date field.
  4. Enter the new time in the Start/End Time field.
  5. Click the Save Event button.
