If your department has purchased a license for Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio software, submit this form to request installation assistance. You may also request installation of Microsoft Visual Studio.

Step 1. Purchase a license. Departments purchase a license through the Microsoft Select Plus Academic Agreement vendor, Dell:

Step 2. Install the software. Submit this service request with a copy of the PO. Desktop Support will contact you.

Expression Web Authoring

Expression Web is a free web authoring tool available for download at no charge from the Microsoft website. Technical support is not available.

Microsoft products are subject to U.S. government jurisdiction and may not be exported without authorization to nations commonly referred to as country Group E. There is one anomaly: after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the region of Crimea was listed – although technically not a country and consequently, not country Group E.

Microsoft may not export without authorization to:

  • Cuba*
  • Iran*
  • North Korea
  • Sudan
  • Syria
  • Region of Crimea

Department Non-Employees

A non-employee using office space and a department computer can submit the MS Office 2016 request form to upgrade the computer’s software. This form is only required for non-employees.

ECU-Purchased Computers

ECU-purchased Windows computers are automatically upgraded to the latest version of Office via KBox as updates become available. If you need to opt out of this automatic update, please contact the IT Help Desk.

Personal Computers

Faculty, staff and students have an Office 365 subscription through ECU which includes five Microsoft Office downloads. Access the download from

Project and Visio:  You must purchase a license from Dell, the Microsoft Select Plus Academic Agreement vendor.

Expression Web:  No fees are associated with this software.
