Outlook Profile for Mac

Please note: Signatures and custom groups will be lost once the new profile is created. If needed, copy or save this information before beginning this process.

Step 1. Check for the Outlook icon in your system's dock. If the color is...

  • Yellow: Install the latest version of Office 365. Log in to pirate365.ecu.edu to download.
  • Blue: Open Outlook and go to Step 2.

Step 2. Check the On My Computer section for saved files.

  • Option 1. There are no files to export from this section. Quit Outlook and go to Step 3.
  • Option 2. There are files to be exported. See next section.

To Export Files:

From the main Outlook menu, click File, then Export. The Export to Archive File (.olm) dialog box opens.

Select all items and click Continue.

Keep the default file name and save to the Desktop. Once the .olm file is saved, quit Outlook and go to Step 3.

Step 3. Open the Applications folder. Right-click* the Outlook app. Click the Show Package Contents option. *If right-clicking does not work for your version, click the settings icon (looks like a gear) in the menu bar to access Show Package Contents.

Step 4. Open the Contents folder. Then click Shared Support. Next, click the Outlook Profile Manager app to launch.

Step 5. Click the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the dialog box to create a new profile. Enter a name for the new profile.

Step 6. Click the settings icon (looks like a gear) at the bottom of the dialog box and choose to make the new profile the default.

The default profile will be bold.

Quit the Outlook Profile Manager app.

Step 7. Add the new profile (email account). Launch Outlook and add your new profile. Last, click the Done button.

Step 8. Import any saved files (from Step 2). Click File, then Import. Locate the .olm file and import. These files will now show in the On My Computer section.
