Overview
NVivo is used for qualitative and mixed-methods research and assists with organization and analysis of non-numerical or unstructured data. You can import data from any source: text, audio, video, emails, images, spreadsheets, online surveys and social and web content.
Use NVivo to classify, sort and arrange many types of non-numerical data while examining relationships between that data to determine patterns and themes.
Special Conditions: 1) For official ECU faculty/staff and registered/enrolled students only; 2) For teaching and nonprofit research purposes of ECU; 3) Home use allowed for your exclusive use (home use licenses limited); 4) License may not be shared or used concurrently on different computers.
Annual Renewal Date: August 30, 2023 (3-year contract)

- Log in to the ECU Download Center.
- Click the NVivo tile to open the request form.
- Complete the request for a new install, renewal or upgrade. A license renewal lets you
stay with your current version.
- The license key and related documentation are emailed to you.
- Activate the license code:
- Open Nvivo application.
- Enter license key on the Welcome screen. Click OK.
- Update use profile as needed. Click Activate.
- Click OK.

- Request license through the ECU Download Center (log in required).
- Download from the Company Portal.
