Overview
ECU-managed computers only. We are all responsible for the ECU information in our care. ECU follows the Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks and disables some default consumer-oriented features on ECU-managed computers. These measures:
- Increase security on ECU-managed computers
- Improve university network security
- Protect ECU data
- Meet state IT audit requirements
Other features are enabled and managed by IT admins only.
Managed Windows features*
NEW! Windows 11 is the latest operating system from Microsoft and provides both improved security and performance. All ECU-managed Windows computers are being upgraded over Summer 2025. See the Related Articles section of this page for a project overview link.
All installed (not cloud) software for your Windows 11 computer must be approved by the Technology Acquisition Committee (TAC) and follow TAC guidelines. Approved software can then be installed to your system through the Company Portal app.
Additionally, all files in your computer’s Documents, Pictures and Desktop folders (see File Explorer) are automatically saved to your ECU individual OneDrive cloud storage.
