Overview

Conference Now is an audio-only conferencing option available through dial-in. This is a voice-only meeting option, there is no attendee list, no call recording, no document sharing or camera views.

Get Started

Once your account is enabled, configure your settings.

Configure general settings (host)

1. If you are working off campus, sign in to the virtual private network: https://remoteaccess.ecu.edu
2. Using your PirateID/passphrase, log in to the Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal: https://myphone.ecu.edu
   
    
3. Click the General Settings tab. Look for the Phone Services PIN section. You must have a PIN to host a meeting.
   
    
4. Choose your PIN numbers and enter them into the Phone Services PIN section. This is your phone PIN.
   
    

Configure meeting settings (host)

1. From the Self Care Portal General Settings area, scroll to the Conference Now section.
2. Note that the Meeting Number is your office phone number. This cannot be changed.
3. As the host, create the Attendees Access Code number. This is any number you wish, and one of the settings you will share with attendees.
   

Share the meeting info (host)

Meeting settings can be shared through email, calendar invite and Teams message.

PLEASE NOTE: Long distance charges may be incurred by attendees or the host depending on an individual's phone service plan.

Attend a Meeting

Host

1. Dial 328-0005. Depending on your location, you may be prompted to dial 1-252 as well.
2. When prompted, enter the meeting number (your 7-digit ECU phone number), then press the # key.
3. Enter the host PIN.

Attendee

1. Dial 328-0005. Depending on your location, you may be prompted to dial 1-252 as well.
2. When prompted, enter the meeting number (sent by the host).
3. Since you are not the host, press the # key.
4. When prompted, enter the attendee access code followed by the # key. The meeting starts when the host enters. If you join early, music plays until the meeting begins.

Security Concerns

• The meeting number and attendee access code are the only security.
• Anyone with this information can join your meeting.
• NEVER share your host PIN with anyone.
• Change your access attendee code as needed through the Self Care Portal.
• If an uninvited person attends your meeting:
  1. End the meeting.
  2. Change your attendee access code through the Self Care Portal.
  3. Re-send the invite to attendees.
