Create and Manage a Guest Network Account – Sponsor

All network guests must be sponsored by ECU faculty or staff. You can create the guest account request, or your guest can submit the request which you then approve.

You must be on campus connected to the campus network (wireless or wired) or off campus connected through a virtual private network (VPN).

Step 1 - Log in to

When the portal opens, authenticate with your PirateID and passphrase.

Step 2 - Complete the form

From the Create Accounts tab, select the Guest Type (daily or weekly) from the drop-down menu and complete the Guest Information and Access Information forms. You will need the guest’s first and last name, email address. Click Create.


Step 3 - Click Notify

The Account Information dialog box opens. Check the guest’s information, including the username and password. Click the Notify button.


Step 4. Notify the guest

You have the option to print a copy of the guest information – which includes the username and password – or to send a text/email of this information to the guest.

Manage a Guest Account

From the site, click the Manage Accounts tab to edit a guest’s information, extend the account, delete the account or refresh the account.


Approve a Guest-Initiated Account

Follow these instructions to approve a guest-generated network account request.

Step 1 - Open the portal

From the Guest Approval Request email, click the link.

a. on campus. Must be connected to eduroam
b. off campus. Log in to the sponsor portal through a VPN connection

Step 2 - Sign in

Sign in using your PirateID and passphrase. Click the Log in button.


Step 3. Open the Pending tab

Click the Pending Accounts tab.

Step 4. Highlight the guest's name

Step 5. Check the box beside the guest’s name""

Step 6. Make a decision

Click to ApproveDenyDelete or Refresh the guest account. Confirm your decision in the next dialog box and click OK.

Text or email the account credentials to the guest. The credentials can also be printed.
