Overview
Piratedrive is a campus network attached storage folder available to users, departments and groups to store ECU data. Each folder is password-protected, secure and backed up nightly. Piratedrive is approved for storage of sensitive ECU information,* such as FERPA or research data. ECU data should not be saved to your computer’s hard drive.
- Personal. A 5GB folder is created for each new student, staff and faculty when the PirateID account is established.
- Department/group. Departments and groups can request a Piratedrive folder for shared information. A primary admin plus a secondary backup are required to manage user access and permissions. Capacity is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Activities using Piratedrive must conform to the Acceptable Use of IT Resources Policy. Commercial or for-profit use prohibited.
Submit to request a department/group Piratedrive folder or to request assistance with your existing folder.
Reporting complaints. Complaints relating to the abuse of Piratedrive space should be directed to the IT Service Desk at 252-328-9866.
