Requests that Don't Fit in Canvas
External Facing Collaboration
Access to Canvas is solely available to users with active PirateIDs.
If non-ECU users need access to a course, you must request external accounts within the ECU Canvas support ticket. Additional licensing costs may be associated with some external accounts.
Fee-based & Continuing Education Courses
For fee-based or continuing education courses, contact Continuing and Professional Education.
Internal Professional Development
If you are a unit that has requirements to retain records and audits of employee certification or training, Cornerstone is the university’s tool for tracking employee training and professional development. See more information through the Human Resources Cornerstone resources website (login required).
Intranet Sites/Document Storage and Sharing Repositories
Canvas is designed for academic course delivery. If document storage and sharing repository are the purpose for the course, Microsoft Teams and Office 365 are more suitable solutions.
Protected Data
Canvas is not approved for the storage of Protected Health Information or other protected information. See the Sensitive Data Storage and Transmission page for options that are approved for the storage of sensitive data.
