Overview

If you use an ECU-managed Mac computer, use one of these options to update your password. In all cases, it must be done locally (on the Mac) so the password is synchronized through all the encryption layers.

On campus with Jamf Connect icon (ECU-managed computer)

  1. Check for the Connect icon in the menu bar.
  2. If yes, click the icon and choose change password.
  3. Internet required; ECU VPN not required.

On campus with no Jamf Connect icon (ECU-managed computer)

  1. If on ECU’s network, no vpn. Go to the top left of the screen and click the Apple menu.
  2. Click System Preferences.
  3. Click Users & Groups.
  4. Click your account and the Change Password button appears on the right.
  5. Macs adhere to many strict password policies.  Re-using a current password or using anything less than 8 characters will not work.

Off campus with no Jamf Connect icon (ECU-managed computer)

  1. Connect to the ECU Virtual Private Network (VPN): https://remoteaccess.ecu.edu
  2. Go to the top left of the screen and click the Apple menu.
